ABOUT OUR HOMESTEAD
Like many other small hobby farms across the country, ours began out of a passion to live a more self sufficient lifestyle. Several years ago we decided to downsize and live a simpler more intentional life. Focusing on our food production and learning about building a healthy soil environment was important to us. We both work so we don't homestead full-time, but we enjoy every minute of it. It's very rewarding when you can harvest fresh organic vegetables for your family, that you planted with your own hands. All it takes is a desire and hard work. We've always had some sort of livestock on our farm at one time or another, whether it be pigs, sheep, goats, chickens and of course a furry friend or two.
We currently enjoy raising our Heritage Silver Fox rabbits and want to be a part of preserving them as they are still considered a threatened breed. Let's not forget about our flock of ladies, who reside in the Cluckin' Parlor. They provide us with more than enough fresh eggs, so we have plenty to share!
The choices that we've made in what we raise and what we do here on the farm are intentional, and purposeful. We'll continue to educate and challenge ourselves to become better stewards of this earth we're blessed to live on. Who knows what tomorrow will bring or what new projects we'll concoct, but we're looking forward to the journey!
As for the name --------- Miss Gracie as we so lovingly called her, was our Border Collie mix who kept a watchful eye on our small farm. That torch has been passed onto Tonka and he's doing a great job!
Thanks for wondering who we are and for visiting us!
