ABOUT OUR EGGS

​​Our happy hens free range whenever possible and are fed a mixed diet of organic grains and fresh organic vegetables from our own garden when is season and what we're able to store throughout the winter.

​We believe in preserving the freshness of our eggs which starts with how we gather them from the hen house.

Eggs have a natural  barrier called the "bloom" that keeps them protected from bacteria. Washing the egg removes this coating. However, eggs can become dirty, cracked or soiled just by hens laying them on the ground or by sitting on them. We found a solution to this!

​We invested in a roll away nest box system which keeps the eggs safe and clean. The hens lay the egg in the next box, they roll down into a tray that is not accessible by the hens, and we collect them daily. In this way, we can provide you and your family with fresh unwashed eggs from our farm to your table.
